Emil Weis Opals KG has been family-owned since its foundation in 1905, and is now run by the third and fourth generations, Jürgen Schütz and his daughter Tanja Schütz. A competent team of 17 employees works tirelessly and enthusiastically in the office, in the in-house cutting workshop, and in the field.

Decades of tradition and involvement in the trade have resulted in lasting mining partnerships in Australia and Mexico, where we acquire rough opals from all producing deposits, directly from the miners who bring them to light.

We cut all types of opals, with our range including Black Opals, Boulder Opals, Yowah Nut Opals, Light Opals, Opal Doublets and Triplets, opal bead strands of all sorts, fine opal engravings.

As the oldest opal cutting workshop in the world, we also fulfill all customer requests in-house with a wealth of stone cutting expertise, from precise cutting work to repairs and production of calibrated sizes.
